The Four Invitations to Compassion
My work now stems from what I call the Four Invitations to Compassion. I have come to articulate these as:
- What moves through me is not the essence of who I am.
Sensations, thoughts, and emotions rise and dissolve in a wider field of awareness. - Every moment is woven from countless influences.
When awareness allows just one thread to loosen, the whole pattern can change. - The present moment offers me the space to experience real freedom.
We miss the present moment when habit and distraction pull us into the past or future. - Compassion is fierce and balanced – it awakens my mind and heart to the true richness of life.
When we practice compassion, we create inner balance and open ourselves to deeper connection, understanding, and meaning.
